1. Trout Fishing

Throughout the park, you’ll see several crystal clear streams. These streams are fed through by the natural spring. The streams are also home to many schools of trout.

If you enjoy fishing and want to put your skills to the test, then be sure to schedule an hour of self-guided catch and release or catch and keep fishing. You can rent a rod and tackle for trout fishing if needed and no fishing license or trout stamp is required.

2. Horseback Riding

If you’d rather see a part of the park that most people don’t explore, then you’ll want to take this adventure via horseback. When you schedule a horseback riding adventure, you’ll be taken through the canyon and all those rugged areas of the park left untouched. You’ll also ride along the Little Indian Creek.

You can schedule a one-hour horseback riding tour or a two-hour one for the more experienced.

3. Wildlife Adventure Tour

Are you seeking a more thrilling experience? The off-trail wildlife adventure tour might be the right tour for you. You can take a private tour (up to 3 people) or an open-air tram ride.

Along this tour, don’t be surprised to see whitetail deer, bison, Texas longhorn, and elk. The park’s natural scenery, including waterfalls and towering buffs, also add to the beautiful sights.

4. Hiking and Biking

In the park, there are 6.5 miles of paved paths or 9 miles of trails near all the best scenic views. You can decide to either hike these trails or bike them. If you didn’t think to bring a bike, then don’t panic.

The park allows you to rent bikes for the trails. Both are a great way to relax while exploring all of the beauty the park has to offer.

5. Conservation Center Exploration

If you love to do your part and learn more about conservation efforts, then you’ll want to visit the Conservation Center.

Located within the park is the Dogwood Canyon Nature Park Conservation Center. The Conservation Center is an educational experience about conservation and nature. You’ll also get to explore the breathtaking treehouse located in the park as well.
